Step 1—Make sure the grey wireless receiver is plugged into the laptop. This is different from the Mobi or Dual Board receiver. It is slightly longer and does not have a blue lighted button.

Step 2—Make sure quiz is selected by placing a check in the box next to the quiz.

Step 3—Check the Device Manager. You should see the Device Manager icon in the lower right section of your screen: If you don’t proceed to Step 5. Make sure the CPS Receiver icon appears in the Device Manager.

Step 4 Check the channel of the CPS receiver. Double-click on the CPS icon to open the properties box. The Base Channel number should be the same as the number on the tag on the responder bag.

Step 5—Device Manager is not responding or is not there. If you do not see the Device Manager icon (pictured above) the Dual Board, Mobi, and CPS responders will not work.

  1. Make sure the Java Update Shield is NOT flashing on the task bar. (If it is, click on it and say “no” when prompted to install.)
  2. Go to the Start button, and type in “Device Manager”.
  3. Double-click on the icon to get it started again.
  4. If that doesn’t work, restart laptop.
